What is staging? Picture speaks 1000 words

I'm amazed when someone asks me, "What is staging?"  I know that I should not expect everyone to know, but even more surprising is the number of agents that don't understand it's importance.  After going through some old before and after pictures, I'll post a few since the pictures speak for themselves.

This was an adorable home.  It was actually on the market for 7 months with another company before I took over the listing with few showings.  When I took over the listing, we got higher showing activity due to additional marketing, however no offers.  This home was competing with a lot of homes, including new construction.

My staging partner, First Impressions, came to the rescue and rearranged this living room.  Once the MLS photos were updated, even more showing activity resulted and more importantly an offer!  This home sold in 44 days after this mini makeover.  See the difference.  The after photo makes this living room a warmer space and the coffee table and rug anchor this room.  Removing the piano and adding these chairs helped this room come together.

Michele,

Keep up the good work of educating people about the importance of merchandising their homes.

That's great, Michele! It's amazing the difference staging can make when selling a home. I cannot speak enough about how it has helped countless homes sell in record time- because they were staged right.

Thanks for sharing, Nicole Weidauer
