Ever need to email a file? I mean a BIG file, like a powerpoint, a high resolution photo(s), a pdf file, or audio/video file, but it keeps getting rejected by the receipients email because the file is too big? How frustrating this can be...
The problem is now solved with YouSendIt.com and is easy as A-B-C. Yousendit is a web based service that protects the security of emailed documents but is an intermediary that allows you to upload the document to their server. The servicesends an email to the receipient on how to pick up the document and viola! It saves the receipcient from getting a jammed up email inbox too.
•1. Sign up for a FREE account at www.yousendit.com.
•2. Enter the email address of your receipent.
•3. Enter a subject title for the email. (optional)
•4. Enter a short message (optional)
•5. Upload the file.
•6. Hit "Send It."

I have a lite account which allows me to send up to 100 MB, but you can sign up to send 2GB if you need to send bigger files for a small fee.
Try it next time you need to send a big file!

Tried using this but with my 64-bit operating system there was an incompatibility issue. Wish it weren't so!
HELLO MICHELE! First of all - hope the "baby" is doing well! And you too! This was great information - I too have a 64 bit system like Kirsten - but I may try it with my other computer. It sure would help with the big photo files! Thanks for the tip! -- Gabrielle
Kirsten-I didn't know it didn't work with certain operating systems. Sorry.
Gabrielle-Baby and I are doing well! We did find out, its a girl! I'll have to post about that. Hopefully it'll work on your other computer. Its amazing how useful yousendit can be!
I have used this in the past and still have the plug-in for Outlook. It seems that I utilize other web based services that I no longer send such large files as to still need this service. Definitely handy for the rare occassion that I do need it.
Hey Michele, thanks for the tip. Will have to check it out :)
it works great -- for those larger files that have trouble going through from or to others email boxes -- it is worth it and it integrates with Outlook easily
Michele Thanks for the tip - I always enjoy learning about "free"
James-I don't need it often either, but it's quite handy when I do!
Melinda-Hope you find it useful.
Scott-It's definitely a good tool to keep in the back pocket.
Karen-FREE is always good! :)
Great tip. Thanks for sharing. I will pass on the word. Bookmarked
I use this and it works well. Free is good.
