You are what you THINK!

You've heard, "You are what you eat."  But what about YOU are also what you THINK.  It's important to know what's going on in the world but it's time to fill your head - and your thoughts - with more than negative media.  I quit watching the news and reading the paper.  Now I just read the headlines and move on.

Instead, I'm seeking positive and affirming messages... books, CDs, and people.  I heard many times that there are 3 things that will make the greatest impact in your life.

charleston, sc real estate1. The books you read

2. The people you meet

3. The places you go

There's plenty of good things to read that will help you improve yourself or your business. One of my recent favorite reads is QBQ: The Question Behind the Question.  I also like the 80/20 Principle.

It's important to stay around positive people.  Get away from the charleston, sc real estateNegative Nellies.  There are plenty of opportunities out there, but you are not going to find them if you are at a pity party.  The is one of the best times in a long time to make a real estate purchase in most markets.  There are folks out there that need your help.

Dave Ramsey says, There's a good place to go when you are broke. TO WORK!  If you have down time, take a class and brush up on some rusty skills. Or help someone else. Give of yourself to someone less fortunate and the problems of your day will melt away as you encounter someone else whose problems are deeper.

If we are what we eat and we are what we think? What are you thinking about most these days?

I am a true believer in thoughts becoming things and it does take "practice" to train your thoughts.

Beliefs ground perception and action. "Beliefs are like unquetioned commands, telling us how things are, what's possible and what's impossible." Tony Robbins

Hi Michele

We do become what we read and think. If we became what we eat I could look like a hot fudge sundae.

Good luck and success

HELLO MICHELE!  This is the second postive post I read today and I love it!  Anytime I feel a little a less than positive, I remind myself that there is truly someone out there that is worse off than me! -- Gabrielle  PS -- What's the Maui countdown?  I am heading back in August!

Suma-It's amazing the difference it makes!

Chuck-Practice makes perfect, right?

Richard-I've always believe perception is reality for exactly the same reason!

Carl-I'm sure he got them from someone else, but it's good.

Lou-I guess I might look a lot like sushi. Wait, I kinda do with my half slanty eyes ;)

Tony-Openmindedness is a good thing as long as it's not open to too much negativity.

Konnie-It's really amazing how that works. Good move to turn off the tube.

Judy-Let's be positive and try to make that contagious!

Marcie-Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out.

Gabrielle-So true. There is always someone, let's face it, a lot of people, less fortunate.  13 days to Maui now!!

Excellent post Michele.  I agree and do my best to surround myself with people that build me up and whom I can build up.  Iron sharpens iron.

I am also very particular of that which I read.

What I have found about travel is that the more places that I visit the more tolerant I am of other people and appreciative of other cultures.  It widens my perspective.

Great post! It's amazing the power that positive thinking or keeping a positive attitude have. Everybody has a choice to make when thye wake up each day. They can be part of the gloom and doom crowd, or they can choose to believe that today will be a great day. Whichever they choose, that's the kind of day they'll have.

Hi Michele,

Great post. I loved QBQ. I can I want to be part of the problem or part of the solution. At the end of the day...It doesn't matter who's fault it is.
